What was tested?
Once the cross-word bridge is established, the same byte-wise target family should extend through B48, B56 and B64 within digest word 6.
Why the test is meaningful
Within a fixed digest word, each additional target byte is a nested lexicographic predicate. Exact incremental work is paid only by survivors of the previous width, while state/feedforward semantics remain unchanged.

Compile the generic word-6 family, run transitions 40→48, 48→56 and 56→64 and reproduce each on two independent conditioned cohorts with exact previous/next and full-suffix gates.
What happened
Every exactness gate passed. Replicate A conditional rates were 0.435%, 0.400% and 0.425%; incremental work was 39.957, 37.787 and 37.518 units. Replicate B produced comparable rates and passed independently.
Exactness and statistical controls
All three boundaries and both replicates were retained. The observed rates remain conditional measurements; the report does not multiply them into a claimed end-to-end advantage.
What the result means
V48 completes the exact byte-width family for word 6. B64→B72 is a new cross-word boundary requiring digest word 5/e63.
Limitations
- Target widths are registered byte boundaries.
- Conditional cohorts do not measure complete mining throughput.
- Hardware cost is unassessed.
Evidence trail
Condition on each previous width, evaluate exactly eight additional bits, audit the target relation and full suffix, then repeat the three transitions on a second cohort.
